So which is better, butane or solvent-less? Until more analysis is done comparing the chemical composition of the plant material to the solvent extracts, we won’t know the real differences. But according to Amarimed of Colorado’s Alan Shackelford, MD, it’s not really a matter of “better” or “worse” – just what suits a patient’s individual needs and preferences.

“There isn't necessarily one method that’s superior to another,” he explains. “Concentrates can be provided in a variety of ways ... different options for different conditions that vary from person to person, as it should be.”
